Wholebeef Burger Boosts
After more than twenty years at the sharp end of the fast food business Mr & Mrs. Kalid Zakeri know exactly what is wanted: consistent, reliable good quality products that deliver customer satisfaction and repeat business.
Whilst they have retained some of his take away outlets, they have over the last year developed BFS (Barnsley Wholesale Catering Supplies) to service the South Yorkshire town and surrounding area with multi temperature products.
The opening of BFS generated a review of established suppliers and that led to a change of burger manufacturer, with Paragon Quality Foods gaining the business because both the price and the quality were right.
The couple’s choice from the range on offer by the Doncaster manufacturer was its 4oz Wholebeef Halal American Style Burger and sales have trebled in recent months.
Of Persian descent, Mr. Zakeri gained a degree at Leeds University before starting businesses in South Yorkshire nearly 20 years ago and he and his family are enjoying the challenge of building the wholesale company.
One customer contributing to the growth of BFS is Pizzario’s, a pizza, pasta, burger, doner and kebab takeaway on the outskirts of Barnsley.
With three competitive pizza outlets and other fast food shops nearby, it spent heavily on a shop fit to demonstrate its up market difference.
A curved stainless steel counter separates customers from the open cooking area. They can watch the pizza and burger chefs in action or watch TV from leather suites and admire the marble effect floor
A baker’s dozen of burger recipes is offered, with chips and salad and the most popular version is the classic Cheeseburger.
Shop manager Faz Baziwar starts the burgers on a hot plate, transferring them to a griddle before teaming them with toasted buns and an eye catching salad.
“There is a lot of competition round here so we have to use high quality ingredients and Paragon’s Wholebeef Burger delivers for us,” he said.
